A parallel event at the United Nations Climate Change Conference: Montréal 2005

Montréal hosted the United Nations Climate Change Conference: Montréal 2005. This meeting was comprised of the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 11) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change (UNFCCC) and the first Meeting of the Parties (MOP 1) to the Kyoto Protocol from November 28 – December 9, 2005. The conference also included a number of complementary parallel events outside the UN meeting.

The GLOBE Foundation coordinated “A World of Solutions”, a Climate Change Solutions Showcase parallel to the UN conference which was a unique opportunity for Canadian organizations to profile their programs, solutions, and emerging and proven technologies dedicated to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The Showcase was held December 6 – 9, 2005 at the Complexe Guy Favreau in Montreal. Over 60 organizations from across Canada showcased their innovations in the transportation, energy and consumption sectors.
