GLOBE is pleased to partner with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in-line with the upcoming GLOBE 2014 conference and trade fair on the business of the environment – taking place in Vancouver, Canada, from March 26-28, 2014. CDP’s mission is to transform the way the world does business in order to prevent dangerous climate change and protect the planet’s natural resources. CDP currently holds the largest collection of self-reported climate change, water, and forest-risk data. Through its global system, companies, investors, and cities are better able to mitigate risk, capitalize on opportunities, and make investment decisions that drive action towards a more sustainable world.
Tom Carnac, President of CDP North America, will join Peter Bakker, President & CEO of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and Dorothy Maxwell, Director of the Natural Capital Coalition (formerly TEEB for Business Coalition), as part of a special session focused on the importance of applying natural capital thinking to government and business decision-making.
CDP will also participate in a session within the Transparency Track, co-hosted by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), looking at the benefits of incorporating sustainability reporting into business strategy in order to improve profitability and competitiveness.
