GLOBAL FOREST AND PAPER SUMMIT

Senior forest and paper industry executives from around the world gathered in Vancouver, Canada for the Global Forest and Paper Summit 2005. This important international gathering created a unique global forum and brought recognized thought leaders and policy makers together with industry stakeholders to discuss the key issues and challenges facing the sector over the next decade.

The GLOBE Foundation was pleased to coordinate the Summit’s flagship conference, Vision 2015: The Global Forest & Paper Industry’s Coming Decade (June 2-3, 2005). This important Conference pivoted around a global CEO Roundtable, which welcomed more than 50 CEOs from 17 countries representing some of the world’s largest forest and paper companies. This first-time event for Canada and the industry provided an exceptional opportunity for business networking and thought provoking discussions.

Overall, more than 800 participants attended the conference coming from Canada (65%), the United States (25%) and the rest of the world (10%). Among these, more than a 100 were CEOs and presidents from over 25 countries.
